Auditions for Running: AMOK are Oct. 2

Running: AMOK is a spirited stage play written by performance artist Khadijah Ali-Coleman about one of the most life-changing experiences a woman may face– sometimes willingly, sometimes while screaming and kicking, and always without a user-friendly manual. Featuring original music and honest dialogue, Running: AMOK will leave you laughing, singing-along and contemplating the miracle of sychronicity, for sometimes it just takes one person to enter your life and change your whole perspective on things.
The show Running:AMOK appeared in the 2010 Capital Fringe Festival in Washington DC.

In 2008, the digital community LiberatedMuse.com was born, connecting creatives from around the globe to discuss, collaborate and fellowship. Liberated Muse Productions (2008-2010) produced the annual Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest held in Washington DC’s Marvin Gaye Park for three years and after the dissolution of Liberated Muse Productions, Liberated Muse Arts Group became the new name of the umbrella of services in 2011, producing events and theatrical productions throughout the Washington DC metro area.

The aim of Liberated Muse Arts Group is to continuously challenge the notion of an “arts space” by programming in spaces that are not traditionally considered popular art spaces while continuing to use traditional spaces as a balance. We wholeheartedly support artist-owned and community-based venues that connects arts programming to populations that typically don’t have access to professional, high-quality artistry.
