The 2010 Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest is Saturday, July 24: MARK YOUR CALENDAR

The 2010 Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest convenes at Marvin Gaye Park in Washington, DC this year on Saturday, July 24, starting at 11am for its annual tradition of showcasing talent from the Nation's Capital. This year's line-up includes Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Kokayi, hip-hop MC Substantial, the rap trio Gods'illa and the funk band GODHISEUS fronted by hip-hop artist Head-Roc. Soul singer Kenny Wesley returns this year with new appearances by singers Colie Williams, Dionne, and the trio Auteur. Liberated Muse Productions (2008-2010) produced the annual Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest held in Washington DC’s Marvin Gaye Park for three years and after the dissolution of Liberated Muse Productions, Liberated Muse Arts Group became the new name of the umbrella of services in 2011, producing events and theatrical productions throughout the Washington DC metro area.

The aim of Liberated Muse Arts Group is to continuously challenge the notion of an “arts space” by programming in spaces that are not traditionally considered popular art spaces while continuing to use traditional spaces as a balance. We wholeheartedly support artist-owned and community-based venues that connects arts programming to populations that typically don’t have access to professional, high-quality artistry.
