The Cast of Running: AMOK Take Over This Week

SOUL SIESTA: A Celebration of Freedom through Words, Rhythms and Songs

Enjoy an afternoon of words, rhythm and songs. Creative Director Khadijah "Moon" Ali-Coleman from the group Liberated Muse Productions will host an hour of music and reading from the anthology Liberated Muse I: How I Freed My Soul. The exciting event features readings from the book and popular musical guests—soul singer Teisha Marie, hip-hop soul singer Anonamas, songtress Quineice and singer Dionne Kirby. The mid-day never sounded so good.

All ages.

The 2010 Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest is Saturday, July 24: MARK YOUR CALENDAR



The 2010 Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest convenes at Marvin Gaye Park in Washington, DC this year on Saturday, July 24, starting at 11am for its annual tradition of showcasing talent from the Nation's Capital. This year's line-up includes Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Kokayi, hip-hop MC Substantial, the rap trio Gods'illa and the funk band GODHISEUS fronted by hip-hop artist Head-Roc. Soul singer Kenny Wesley returns this year with new appearances by singers Colie Williams, Dionne, and the trio Auteur.
